NIDAQ Tools: Legacy Version
For those with special needs, we can still provide NIDAQ Tools version 1.53.
You might want this version if you have an old DAQ device that is not supported by the NI-DAQmx driver, or if you have Igor procedure code written for the older version of NIDAQ Tools and you don't want to convert it for NIDAQ Tools MX.
For new development we do not recommend using the legacy NIDAQ Tools. With time it will support a smaller and smaller fraction of the DAQ devices offered by National Instruments. Already, the newest, best-performing and cheapest devices run only with the NI-DAQmx driver, which means they work only with NIDAQ Tools MX.
Hardware Support: PCI E-series, some S-series, older USB modular devices, and a variety of devices for use with laptop computers. Older devices supported by the legacy NIDAQ Tools that are not supported by NIDAQ Tools MX include PCI-1200 series and the DAQCard 500 series.

Windows: Legacy NIDAQ Tools runs on Windows 98, 2000 and XP. If you must run on Windows 98, the legacy NIDAQ Tools is your only choice.
The legacy NIDAQ Tools 1.53 for Windows is included when you buy NIDAQ Tools MX.
Macintosh OS 9: Legacy NIDAQ Tools runs on OS 9 only, with Igor Pro 4 (non-Carbon version).

Macintosh OS X: Because National Instruments has not created the appropriate drivers for Mac OS X, we cannot offer any version of NIDAQ Tools for use with Mac OS X.
