Optimal intergation

Hi,

I am new in this forum and I just started to use Igor. I have a 2D experimental data which I would like to integrate. However, I would like to integrate in a way that it will optimize the integration instead of calculating the area. Do you know how I could do it using Igor?
I really, really would appreciate your help.
Thanks
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for. Do you mean that you have an integral equation that models your data, and you want to do a curve fit to your data? That can be done, but it isn't easy. To help you, I will need more details.

Thanks for your reply. I have a XY data which I want to integrate over a X range. Usually, I would calculate the area (using area function) of the graph in order to get the integer. However, I was wondering if there is any other function (nor Area) that calculate an optimized integer. Hope I explained better...
Thanks
Dear tmc,
this is still not quite clear. Please define what you mean by "optimized integer" (optimized in which way?).
