Scatter dot plot in Igor

I recently moved from Igor 6 to Igor 8.

I cannot just to figure out how to do a scatter dot plot.

Igor 8 is not doing it ???

Hi,

It should be the same. Create New Graph, select x and y.  Once generated double click on trace to open trace modify and set modes to dots.

Also you can right click on trace and set mode to dots from contextual menu.

Hi,

That is a category plot and it should also be done the same way.  Can you share a bit of data in an experiment file?

The Scatter Dot Plot package still ships with Igor 8, and it should still work just like it did in Igor 6. What do you see in the menu

Windows->New->Packages? Scatter Dot Plot should be there.

In Igor 8 you can also use a box plot and simply set the box and whisker lines to zero thickness. You can also use a violin plot the same way.

There is not option Packages  in Windows->New

Maybe I have to "activate" ?

Yes, but it is more complicated if I have to modify the graph....

Sounds like you have a broken Igor installation. Are you using a Macintosh by any chance?

Choose Misc->Path Status and click home. The path should be something like "C:\Program Files\WaveMetrics\Igor Pro 8 Folder". If not, there is something wrong with your installation. It may be that you dragged the Igor64.exe icon out of the "Igor Pro 8 Folder".
