Working On Images in Panels

I have created a panel with images in it. I want to measure line profiles from within those images, but the Image Lines Profiles (Igor Panel) doesn't recognize there are any images available to work on. Is there a way to get the Image Line Profiles panel to recognize those images? Also, is there a way to include the Image Line Profiles panel into my Panel?
It is a good idea to start by stating which version of Igor you are using. If you are using Igor 7 the meaning of "Line Profile Panel" is different from Igor 6.

In general, if you are displaying images in a panel you should add your own drawing routine to mark the profile of interest. You could use cursors or a pair of waves to mark the requested path. Once you have a defined the path you can call ImageLineProfile operation to actually compute the profile for it.
