Colored axis scale (as f(z))

Hi
I am trying to plot some parameters in the x axis and the temperature in the y axis.
I would like to know how to add a column next to the y axis where I can draw a colour-scale axis for the temperature y axis. I attach an example of what I am trying to do.
I would like to modify the yellow column (which is simply a column with fixed data and drawn as 'fill to zero') so that it changes colour in terms of the temperature. I tried with the 'set as f(z)' colour but it does not work because I want it drawn in the y axis, not in the x-axis.
Any idea? I would really appreciate your help!!
Thanks

Have you tried working with the built in color scale? (Select: Graph Menu > Add Annotation) From the drop down box at the top left of the Add Annotation dialog, select "ColorScale". Color Scales are very customizable; you may have to work a bit to get exactly what you are looking for, but I think it is possible. Although they typically reside at the right end of the graph window, they can be repositioned.
