How is chi-square calculated for the multi-peak case?

I have fitted my data to multiple (3) Gaussian peaks, and Igor gave me a single chi-square value. I would like to know how is this calculated. (there is a formula for the case of a single-peak fit in the help menu...I wonder how the one for multi-peak differs..)
