Pasting a wave (data) into a table

It's often convenient to run Edit and paste columns of data into a table, say from another program into Igor. Igor is able to recognize HH:MM:SS times but I haven't been able to paste dates in this way. Is there a recommended format, or is this just not supported for some reason?
Hmm... isn't it the same as in the 'Load Delimited Text' option (just a quicker way of getting this into igor)?
You may want to check the 'Loading Delimited Text Files - Date/Time Formats' section in the Igor manual for this.

Use Table->Table Date Format to specify your preferred date format.

This is a global preference that affects all tables.
