Do you pronounce it EE-gor or EYE-gor?

Here is an irrelevant bit of fluff: how does one pronounce the name of this software? I'm not making an allusion to a Mel Brooks film, just generally curious.

I starting using Igor during a job I had in Italy. There, everyone I worked with pronounced it EYE-gor, even though the letter 'I' is pronounced 'EE' by italian speakers. This was rather puzzling to me.
