Error bars aren't centered on bar plot

How do I get the error bars to be in the center of the bar graph? Better question - the bars should be centered on their data point. Why aren't they? Changing the offset doesn't help.

What you see is the correct behavior. What you actually want is the behavior of a category plot. But you can achieve what you want here as well by plotting the data twice (bars + data points with error bars) and then offsetting one by the other by half a step width.
