Hidden data in .eps files from Igor

This is probably a working-as-intended thing, but Ive been running into various situations where I will create a graph in Igor, save it as an .eps file, and then either:

a) the output file re-includes visual features that were otherwise removed, like axis ticks and labels
b) the output file looks correct visually, but loading into adobe illustrator and printing results in hidden data features re-emerging.

The final example, I have an entire column of data in a 2D histogram that shows up only if I print the file. Saving the file into a pdf format removes this behavior. The column was otherwise 'removed' visually in Igor by adjusting the axis range: the correct and incorrect images both show the same tick labels, ie starting and ending at the same value, but the histogram itself is getting shifted.

Is that supposed to be happening?
