How can I create a custom X-axis scale?

Hello!
I need to look at the electric field and temperature dependence of the current density, so I need to be able to look at different, non integer powers of x axis scaling in order to find a linear fit. For example, it may vary as the square root of the field, or it may vary as the .7 power of the field. I need a quick way to change the scaling and see when linear regions appear?

Sounds like a job for TransformAxis package. See Graph->Transform Axis. You will probably benefit from the demo experiment, File->Example Experiments->Graphing Techniques->Transform Axis Demo. The package has a few transformation functions, but you may well need to provide your own. Read the help and view the demo for an introduction to that task.
