Shaded area instead of error bars

Say I want to graph some data with lots of data points as a line. Every data point has an error bar associated. I would appreciate a graphing feature where instead of showing the error bar for every point, a shaded area around the line is shown. This would make some of my graphs way less busy.

I use such types of plots quite frequently. The workaround to calculate the "min" and "max" waves separately and use the "fill to next" feature kind of works but becomes a hassle if there's more than one set of data plotted in the same graph. Especially when traces are removed from the graph, getting the remaining ones back in order isn't easy.

A simple option to draw a shaded error area would facilitate this.
I have seen this feature already working in Igor 7. Unfortunately, Igor 7 undergoing what one of the WaveMetrics owners calls "nuke and repave" to update code that's more than 20 years old, and it won't be in beta testing for a long time.

Until then, the technique of fill to next is the best we can do.
