Yes - after creating the category plot in Igor, double click on the bottom axis. This should open the 'Modify Axis' dialog, where you can control different aspects of how the graph displays. Within this dialog, in the 'Axis' tab, you should see a field for 'Category gap'. If you increase this to say, 50% (I think the default is 10), you'll get nicely clustered data for each category.
