Scroll bars for Main Igor Pro (Experiment) Window
Are there scroll bars for the main Igor experiment window when running in MS Windows?
I've looked back at old forum items and it was mentioned in a June 2011 posting. When developing experiments I have many internal Igor windows open and use a large screen. If I also want to access other MS Windows apps on the same desktop at present I drag the Igor experiment to one side to expose other apps - there is never enough space on a screen. It would be nice to be able to reduce the size of the main Igor window, access another app or two and then scroll to the inner Igor window of interest.
No, there are no main window scroll bars at the moment.

The Window Browser is Igor's solution to this need.
Do Windows -> Window Browser, and then program a keyboard shortcut like below. The WB can help you find tables, graphs, graphs containing specific waves, or graphs with specific names.

Turning on scroll bars as you request is pretty simple--it's just a flag. Making those scroll bars work as you expect them to (and also as another random user expects them to, which might be differently) and adding a programmatic interface to scrolling would be a lot of work. Even if we did that, I'm not sure how usable it would make Igor. The most straightforward implementation would scroll everything within Igor's MDI frame, which includes the command window and modeless dialogs (e.g. the Data Browser). It's hard to say for sure without trying, but I think that would make Igor even more annoying to use, not less.
The Window Browser is one tool that could help deal with the problem. You could also give https://www.wavemetrics.com/project/ACL_WindowDesktops a try. That's an old project of mine that still works as far as I know, though I haven't tested it for a while.
There's also the Windows->Control->Retrieve all Windows menu item that will pull all windows into the MDI frame. If you just need certain windows moved, you can create your own functions to move certain windows and then create menu items to call those functions.
